Top Attractions
Chinese Milu Park
The world's largest Milu (Père David's deer) reserve on the Yellow Sea coast of Dafeng, a national 5A site. From 39 deer reintroduced from Britain in 1986, the herd has grown into the world's major wild population; electric shuttles take visitors deep into the wetlands among the grazing herds.
Dutch Flower Sea
China's largest tulip-viewing site in Xinfeng Town, Dafeng District, a national 4A area where over 30 million tulips bloom in spring, followed by peach,二月兰 and wisteria. Dutch windmills and European-style buildings frame the beds, and the resident "Only Love" theatrical show adds an evening option.
Dazong Lake Tourist Area
The largest and deepest lake of the Lixiahe region in Yandu District, famed for its reed maze — boat tours threading dense reed channels — and the adjacent East Jin Water Town with evening light shows. A combo ticket covers both; winter hours shorten to 17:00.
Jinsha Lake Resort
East China's largest freshwater sand beach resort, a national 4A area in Funing County with skiing, hot springs, sand sculpting and a desert-themed adventure park — a rare inland beach experience.
New Fourth Army Memorial Hall
A national first-class museum on Jianjun East Road, opened in October 1986 with the hall name inscribed by Li Xiannian. Seven exhibition halls with 6,000 square metres of sound-and-light displays trace the New Fourth Army's wartime course, complemented by the Rebuilding Headquarters monument in the city centre and the Taishan Temple former headquarters. Free, closed Mondays.
Yellow Sea Forest Park
The largest man-made forest park of East China — 68,000 mu of woods inside the World Heritage Yancheng Yellow Sea wetlands, in Dongtai. Metasequoia avenues, a forest mini-train and nature-Discovery playgrounds suit families; cool breezes and rich negative ions make summer the favorite season.
Tiaozini Wetland Scenic Area
A national 4A coastal wetland on Dongtai's northeastern shore, part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage "Yellow Sea-Bohai migratory bird habitat". Its famous "720" high-tide roost — 720 mu of restored mudflat micro-terrain — shelters hundreds of thousands of migrating spoonbills and godwits each spring and autumn; entry about CNY 30.
Red-crowned Crane Wetland
Part of the national first-class rare-bird reserve on the Yellow Sea coast, recording 421 bird species and wintering flocks of red-crowned cranes. Crane release demonstrations run daily at 10:30 and 15:30; boardwalks and birdwatching towers make it the finest window onto the World Heritage Yancheng wetlands.
