About Wenbi Pagoda

Changzhou's oldest surviving building, first raised in the Southern Qi era (c. 480) as the pagoda of Taiping Temple. The seven-storey brick-and-wood tower crowns the south end of Hongmei Park, its summit marked by a 1.5-ton bronze gourd; its brush-like silhouette made it the "soul of the brush" for generations of Changzhou scholars.
